John Oliver - 1989-90 from Stony Brook, New York, USA
I left Corowa in 1990 and went back to Stony Brook, New York, graduating from Ward Melville High School in 1992. After a year of preparatory school at Bridgton Academy, Maine, I was appointed a midshipman and entered the United States Naval Academy in July of 1993.
I graduated in May of 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish and received a commission as an ensign in the US Navy.
Following Flight School, I earned my Naval Flight Officer Wings in 1999 and reported for duty onboard P-3C Orion aircraft station in Brunswick, Maine flying anti-submarine, land attack, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions around the world.
After 20 years of Active Duty, I retired on May 12, 2017 (officially on June 1st).
I met my wife, Randi in 1995 when she was a Danish Au Pair near Annapolis. We have been married for almost 18 years. We have three children Patrick (15), Cecilia (13), and Sarah (11). We live in Annapolis, a few miles from the Naval Academy.
I am currently seeking employment and am focusing on Homeland Security or the Aerospace Defense Industry.
Below are some photos of my time in Corowa.
